The Schierholz products – Electric Monorail System(EMS), ”Power & Free”, Overhead chain conveyors and other special transport systems – are designed in a modular way and allow for flexible solution possibilities in the most diverse of sectors: whether for individual car parts or a complete driver’s cab for a juggernaut, transport tasks for surface engineering, the manufacture and assembly of gear motors or the hygienic, demanding tasks of the food industry: we take on every challenge and develop individual, economical solutions for every sector.

One example of this is the deployment of an Electric Monorail System for painting aeroplane components. In the painting area, a Overhead chain conveyor is used to drive the Electric Monorail System cars. For the remainder of the transport process, the vehicles obtain their energy from busbars – as usual. As handling functions during this material flow process are carried out in a large area of the plant, the decision was made not to use a conventional Overhead chain conveyor but an Electric Monorail System instead.

A further example is ”just in sequence delivery” in the automotive industry. Production takes place in reasonable lot sizes. End assembly and delivery to the car plant occur according to the order in which segments are produced. It is necessary to find cost efficient intermediate storage for the parts. In order to do this it is necessary to make use of both material flow systems – for straightforward transport a Overhead chain conveyor is used and for storage an Electric Monorail System with handling function is employed. The transported material is removed from the vehicle and stored separately. The Electric Monorail System cars exclusively do transport, as well as load and unload functions. They do not stand motionless as storage space on long stretches of rails.
